When you use SermonForge, we collect:

  • Account information: email address used for passwordless sign-in
  • Profile data: church name, denomination, preaching style (provided voluntarily)
  • Sermon content: Bible passages, sermon inputs, and generated outputs
  • Usage data: number of sermons generated, features used
  • Payment information: processed securely by PayPal (we never see your card details)

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and improve the SermonForge service
  • To authenticate your account
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions
  • To send transactional emails (login links, receipts)
  • To enforce usage limits on free plans

We never use your sermon content to train AI models for other users. Your sermons, notes, and congregation data remain private.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) in US multi-region data centers. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest. We use Firebase Authentication for secure passwordless sign-in. API keys and secrets are stored in Firebase Secret Manager.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Firebase (Google): hosting, authentication, database
  • OpenAI: AI sermon generation (your inputs are sent to OpenAI API)
  • PayPal: payment processing
  • Google Fonts: typography delivery

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them for complete information.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Export your sermon content
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

6. Cookies

SermonForge uses only essential cookies and localStorage for authentication state and theme preference. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
